Squanto

Squanto helped the early settlers in many ways.  He helped them with their crops, and showed them good farming tools. He acted as their tour guide and showed them the ropes of the land. Most importantly he acted as a mediator between the settlers and the Native Americans. Without Squanto the relationship most likely would not have grown.  They needed him on their side to show the Native Americans they did not mean any harm. They simply wanted to search for gold, and it only makes sense that the Native Americans would feel intruded upon.  Thanks to squanto more hardships were avoided and both colonies could live more peacfully interacting with eachother.
